Delete your Ottr account
App: Ottr (Android) · Developer: Ottr, United Arab Emirates (the
registered company’s name replaces this once it exists)
How to ask
- Email ottrsupport@gmail.com from the email address you use to sign in
to Ottr, with the subject “Delete my account”. Using that address is
how we know the request is yours.
- We confirm we have received it within 3 working days, and delete your
account within 30 days. We email you when it is done.
An in-app “Delete my account” button is coming in a later version.
What is deleted
- Your Ottr account and sign-in email.
- Your cloud backup: every entry, category, budget and setting stored on our
server.
- The daily counts of your requests to Otto and smart categories.
What is not deleted, and why
- Your votes on shop categories. If you moved a purchase to a different
category, your choice was kept as a vote on what kind of shop it is, stored
under a code rather than your name or email. These votes are kept after your
account is deleted: once the account is gone, the code can no longer be
linked to you, so the votes point to no one, and they keep the shared shop
list useful for everyone.
- The shared list of shops (shop names and kinds of shop). It holds nothing
about you.
- Data on your phone. We cannot reach it. Delete the Ottr app, or use
Settings → Clear history in the app, to remove it.
- Otto conversations were never stored on our server, so there is nothing
to delete there. Our AI provider, Anthropic, deletes each request within 30
days of receiving it, longer only if it is flagged for misuse.
Delete some data without closing your account
- Delete any entry in the app; if backup is on, it is removed from the cloud
too.
- Switch cloud backup off in Settings. Entries already backed up stay in the
cloud until you delete your account; write to us if you want them removed
sooner.
